Letter Signed "John Adams", 1 pg folio, February 12, 1779 to Honorable A.(rthur) Lee, in part:

"...We duly received the Letter which you did us the honor of writing on the 9th of Feb. accompanied with a letter from Mr. Pringle; herenwith you have the Draught of an Answer to that Gentleman, which you are requested if you approve of it to subscribe & forward.  As Mr. Lee is better acquainted with these Persons & Offices to which Mr. Pringle must apply; it is requested of Mr. Lee to make a Draught of Instructions; for Mr. Pringle; which Mr. Adams will subscribe if he approves them, as he doubts not he shall.  I have the honr to be with the greatest Consideration & Respect Sir, your most obedt humble Servant... Arthur Lee (1740-1792) was an American Diplomat during the American Revolution.  He was the son of Hon. Thomas Lee (1690-1750) and Hannah Harrison Ludwell (1701-1750).  His brothers were diplomats with two being signers of the Declaration of Independence,  Richard Henry Lee and Francis Lightfoot Lee.
