President Zachary Taylor

This president died while in office by eating a bowl of raw fruit, according to certain historical theorists.

Taylor served the third shortest term as President.  His major piece of legislation was the Compromise of 1850 regarding the free state/slave state issue after the Mexican American War and borders of some northern/western states.

This document is a military commission signed by Taylor on March 20, 1850. This document appoints John Beardsley as Captain in the Eighth Regiment of Infantry. Taylor was originally thought of dying from consuming large amounts of raw milk and fruit (possibly cherries). Although speculation immediately surfaced of assassination theories of poisoning, those rumors were recently unproven. It appeared it was a severe digestive ailment.
